Council lists these facilities: cricket wickets, toilets, outdoor gym equipment, BBQ, picnic shelters, bay-to-bay cycle/walking path.
Finding the park
Ford Park is at James Street and Maria Street, Strathfield South 2136. Council requires equipment to be walked in, so tell us the exact spot and how far it is from where we can park.
Good to know
- Power: Ask Council when you apply whether power is available. If it isn't, add a generator to your hire.
- Pegs and surfaces: Tell us whether the castle is going on grass or a hard surface so we can bring sandbags if needed.
- Weather: Bring shade and plenty of water on hot days. We can't run castles in strong wind or rain.
Council rules and bookings
Strathfield Council's terms list using an inflatable jumping castle as something that needs Council approval and can't be done as a casual park event, even if your group is small. That means applying in writing at least six weeks ahead. Amusement devices must have an engineering certificate. Equipment has to be walked in, because vehicle access isn't allowed unless Council approves it in writing. Council's terms also mention a $20 million public liability certificate of currency for some hire types, so check with Council whether it applies to your party. Parks can be booked from 8am to 6pm, or until 8pm during daylight saving, and there are no wet-weather refunds. Fees are in Council's fees and charges. Email bookings@strathfield.nsw.gov.au.
