About the park
Council's park information and OpenStreetMap show a playground, barbecues, public toilets and shelter or shade at Petersham Park, in a park of about 4.3 hectares. We haven't been to this park ourselves, so have a quick look before party day to pick a flat, grassy spot.

Good to know
- Power: Using Council power needs Council's approval, so most parties bring a generator. Ask us if you need one.
- Pegs and surfaces: Council doesn't allow pegs or stakes in the ground, so tell us where the castle is going and we'll bring sandbags.
- Weather: Bring shade and plenty of water on hot days. We can't run castles in strong wind or rain.
Council rules and bookings
Inner West Council says groups of fewer than 30 people usually don't need a park booking, but bringing an amusement device such as a jumping castle changes that, so you'll need to book. Bookings are made through Council's online booking system, and Council won't accept a booking within 7 days of the event, so plan ahead. Where Council approves a jumping castle, it asks for a copy of the supplier's $20 million public liability certificate of currency. Marquees need approval and can't be pegged, so they have to be weighted. Using Council power needs approval, and vehicles must stay on roads and in parking areas unless Council gives special permission. If you cancel more than 7 days out, you get a refund less a $50 fee. Inside 7 days there's no refund, and bookings aren't refunded for bad weather. Fees are set in Council's Schedule of Fees and Charges, so check the current amount when you book. Questions go to parkbookings@innerwest.nsw.gov.au.
